Non-Executive Director opportunity

The Board has been very stable over the past 10 years and Adnams are now planning for rotation of existing Board Members over the next five years. Bridget McIntyre is due to retire in December 2022 and we are seeking her successor.

The Adnams Board is proud to have highly engaged Non-Executive Directors who work closely with the Executive Directors providing genuine challenge, insight and input. The Non Executives combine a strong commercial approach with a willingness to provide challenge in a supportive and collegiate manner and the Board is deliberately drawn from a mix of backgrounds and experience to ensure breadth and diversity of thought.

As a member of the Adnams Board, the successful candidate will:

  • Make an active contribution to the success of the business through the provision of strategic and commercial insights, and independent, constructive challenge
  • Provide independent and impartial counsel to the Chairman, Senior Independent Director, Chief Executive, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and colleagues
  • Scrutinise and monitor the company’s performance in meeting agreed goals and objectives
  • Ensure that high levels of accountability, best practice, and corporate governance are delivered
  • Chair either the Audit or Remuneration Committees, depending on skills and experience 
  • Regularly refresh his/her skills, familiarity with the developments in Adnams business and its risk environment

Candidates will possess a combination of:

  • Board experience gained in a related consumer industry
  • Strong financial acumen 
  • A genuine interest and knowledge of sustainability, culture and innovation
  • Brand appreciation

Time commitment is approximately 18 days per year, including monthly Board meetings held in Southwold (excluding December).
